Why We Built This Site
Florida keeps most jail and inmate information open to the public, so the records are out there. The trouble is that they are scattered, and the hard part is knowing which office holds the person you are looking for. The county sheriff runs the local jail roster, which covers people who are pretrial or serving short sentences. The Florida Department of Corrections runs a separate locator for people sentenced to state prison. Federal prisoners and immigration detainees show up in still other systems. We built this site to gather those rosters, locators, contacts, visitation details, and request steps in one place, with plain explanations of which tool answers which question.

Only the sheriff's office or the corrections department can confirm a current custody status, the charges, or a release. This site can point you to the right roster, but the official answer comes from them.
